PTPTN: Discounts and deferral repayment will be announced soon

SHAH ALAM - The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) said the implementation of the discount and deferral of repayment initiative for borrowers as announced in Budget 2023 will be revealed in the near future.

PTPTN in a statement also stated their commitment to implement the loan repayment discount initiative of up to 20 per cent for three months and payment deferral for a period of six months to borrowers with a monthly income of RM1,800 and below starting March 1.

"On Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister on Friday gave various initiatives to the Malaysian community, including the borrowers of PTPTN.

"This effort shows the government's concern in a challenging economic situation, thus easing the financial burden of affected borrowers," it said in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, as an agency under the Higher Education Ministry, PTPTN is always ready to help borrowers in line with the government's initiative in Budget 2023.
