Hazwan to contest for Hulu Selangor Umno Youth veep, exco seat

SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth Hulu Selangor Muhammad Hazwan Hasbullah will contest for the division's Umno Youth Vice President and Umno Youth exco seat in the upcoming party election.

Hazwan in a statement said the decision was taken after seeing low support from youths on Umno at branch, division and every level of the youth groups.

"My participation to run for the highest leadership position in Umno Youth is a healthy check and balance for the party."

"I realised that young people are the pioneers of a new generation who are able to have an impact to win back the support of youths to come back with Umno," he said.

Malaysia's largest political party Umno will hold its election on March 18.

The elections for the party wings – Wanita, Youth, and Puteri – will similarly be held simultaneously but earlier, on March 11.
