Umno needs to do better, restore public confidence, says Khaled

JOHOR BAHRU - Umno must face the reality that the party is still not in a good position despite being part of the unity government after the 15th general election (GE15).

Umno vice president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the fact is all members from each level should look into restoring the party.

"It’s the responsibility of all Umno members from the grassroots to the leadership to mobilise their energy to restore trust to Umno.

"The soul-searching period is over and now it is the time to mobilise all plans in strengthening the party to ensure Umno remains relevant in the political landscape.

"This is apparent with the state elections around the corner and the party preparations for GE16,” he said in a statement, today.

The Johor Umno chairman added all parties must support their representative for the 2023-2026 term this month.

He congratulated all Umno branches nationwide for successfully organising Umno branch annual meetings at division, Wanita, youth and Puteri committee election.

The former Johor Menteri Besar added Umno branches nationwide represents a starting point in building the party’s influence at grassroot level and to correct the public’s perception towards the party.
