Senior citizen dies in collision with four-wheel drive vehicle

KLUANG - A senior citizen died after his motorcycle was hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle in an accident at Jalan Paya 1, Kampung Paya, here, on Saturday.

Kluang police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said when the incident happened, the victim Nadarajan Ramasamy, 63, was riding his motorcycle alone.

Early investigations found the accident occurred at the main road in Kampung Paya when the four-wheel drive vehicle exited Jalan Paya 1/2.

"The victim suffered head injuries before he was declared dead at the scene.

"The body was taken to Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for an autopsy while the 47-year-old driver did not sustain any injuries,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Bahrin said the case was investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 to ascertain the cause of the accident.
