"We have been informed that this application has been rejected. It is sad to note that the commitment and goal to split Malay votes was not welcomed by the leadership of Perikatan Nasional.

"Pejuang will remain in the national political arena to uphold the rule of law and carry out the mandate to fight for religion, race, and the country," he said in a statement.

He further added that Pejuang will continue to mobilise machinery in certain areas to prepare for the upcoming state elections.

Earlier, PN Supreme Council meeting chaired by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had decided to reject Pejuang's application to join the opposition bloc.
