Saudi Arabia is ready to welcome millions of Umrah pilgrims throughout Ramadan

Saudi Arabia government have announced that the two grand mosques of Muslims community are ready to welcome millions of pilgrims performing Umrah throughout the month of Ramadan this year.

Imam of Masjid al-Haram, who is also the general president for the two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais said preparations are complete for all services in Masjid al-Haram and Masjid Nabawi to welcome pilgrims from all over the world.

Preparations included maintenance of elevators, lifts, audio systems as well as aspects of technical engineering, services, awareness and guidance.

He also informed that experts in each field will carry out continuous monitoring to ensure everything functioned well in addition to using the newest technology in an effort to ensure all religious activities can run smoothly.

Since the beginning of February, the Saudi Arabia Haj and Umrah Ministry had opened applications for permits to perform Umrah during Ramadan 1444H.

The ministry, through a statement on its official Twitter account, stated the application is open to all Saudi citizens and foreigners who comply to the conditions set.

The Saudi Arabia government confirmed that Umrah permits for foreigners are valid for 90 days and they reminded pilgrims not to stay in the country beyond that period. - Awani
