The ministry further made it clear that a statement that said that the ministry was giving its full support to SPDRM was false.

"The ministry hopes that the explanation will answer any questions or confusion among employers or the industries, especially the diplomatic representation of the source countries in Malaysia regarding SPDRM," read the statement.

The ministry's explanation was referring to a media report yesterday, which among others said that the SPDRM would be able to address the issue of human trafficking as well as expediate the entry of foreign workers into the country.
