Penang PH to finalise the seat allocations for the state election today

BATU KAWAN - Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) will hold a meeting today to finalise the seats to be contested by the coalition in the coming state election.

Penang PH chairman Chow Kon Yeow said they will discuss whether there were available seats that can be negotiated to give to Barisan Nasional (BN) before it is finalised.

"We will hold a meeting this afternoon and I hope to finalise the decision for PH before we negotiate with BN and Umno.

"The final decision will be made in terms of which seat we want to contest and which seats are up for negotiation with them (BN)," he said when met by the media at Batu Kawan Parliament Aidilfitri Open House and Bukit Tambun State Legislative Assembly Constituency in Taman Tangling, here, today.

Meanwhile, when asked about MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng's statement that all BN component parties need to be included in the negotiation for seat allocations between PH and BN in the state, Chow said BN needs to deal with the matter.

He said that he was informed that several other BN leaders would be present in the meeting between PH and Umno next week.

"From the list submitted by Umno, BN leaders were also included.

"The matter needs to be managed in BN," he simply said.

Previously, Sinar reported that Penang PH will hold a meeting with the state Umno next week over seat allocations in Penang.

Chow said the state party will also hold another meeting on the matter in a few days this week.
