'Sanusi is popular like Mr Bean' - Mahfuz

BAYAN LEPAS - Kedah Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar admits that he is surprised to be accused of riding on the popularity of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

He said Sanusi could not only joke and dance, the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman could entertain others as well as Mr Bean.

"I was surprised by his statement. When did I ride on his popularity? But I must admit he is as popular as Mr Bean and his comedic antics.

"Sanusi can sing..is popular..can laugh out loud like Mr Bean," he said after attending the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Eid Open House in Teluk Kumbar on Sunday.

He said this following Sanusi’s claims that the Pokok Sena MP attempted to ride on his popularity via the defamation suit against him.

He viewed Mahfuz’s actions of asking for the payment to be made via social media as only riding on the coattails of his popularity as his reputation as Amanah vice president has fallen.

Mahfuz said he or his lawyer have yet to receive any payment from Sanusi.
