Two students drown at Lubuk Kain Waterfall

DUNGUN - Two Kemaman Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara (KKTM) students drowned while swimming at the Lubuk Kain Waterfall, Kampung Shukor, Kuala Jengai, here on Friday.

Dungun district police chief Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah said he received the report on the incident involving the two men at 11.30am.

He said the victims Muhammad Ridhwan Zawawi, 19, and Ahmad Syahid Hamdan, 19, were camping by the waterfall with 18 friends.

"Both victims with another friend had gone to the location and they both dove into the waters before they were reported missing

"Ridhwan who was from Bukit Payong, Marang was found at 12.08pm while Syahid from Tok Jembal, Kuala Nerus was found 12 minutes after.

"Both bodies were found at the location they were reported missing," he said here on Friday.

Baharudin said both victims had died due to drowning and their bodies were sent to the Dungun Hospital.
