Names of Umno 'bigwigs' joining Pas, Bersatu and PN to be announced in early June

KUALA TERENGGANU - Pas has confirmed that political leaders with big names, mostly from Umno will join the party, Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN) soon.

Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said all the names will be announced in early June.

"They will join Pas, Bersatu and PN directly as well.

"Some are from Umno and some are from other parties... most of them are from Umno," he said.

He said this after the Pengkalan Berangan State Legislative Assembly land ownership grant presentation ceremony, today.

Previously, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan confirmed that former Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa has expressed his intention to join Pas.

This was following former Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) member Tan Sri Noh Omar's announcement that he will contest in the Selangor state election under PN's ticket.

Meanwhile, when asked if the big names involved will contest as a candidate in the upcoming state elections, Ahmad Samsuri said it depended on the situation.

He said until now, Pas has not finalised the list of candidates who will contest in the state elections. - AWANI
