JOHOR BAHRU - The grassroots members of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties have no problem voting for candidates from a fellow component party in the upcoming polls in six states, says Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.

Salahuddin said he believed members of PH and BN component parties will give their support and votes to the candidates to be fielded in the state polls, adding that based on his experience party members would vote for candidates that have been approved by their leaders.

"We hope that votes from PH will be translated into support from BN and vice versa, this transformation is important, so I hope that with that consensus the candidates, whether they are from PH or BN will get the support," said the Pulai MP.

He said this to reporters at the Pulai MP Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house here today.

He was commenting on the statement made by Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan yesterday who was reported to have urged Umnp voters in the six states to vote for DAP candidates in a bid to strengthen the Unity Government.
