SHAH ALAM - The call by Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan for party voters to lend their support for the Unity Government candidates in the next state elections, including those from DAP is relevant.
DAP Youth Executive Committee deputy leader (DAPSY), Young Syefura Othman said, it is because support from the grassroots regardless of which coalition party is necessary to ensure the stability of the Unity Government at the federal and state levels.
"Government and political stability is very important nowadays to ensure that reforms can be done well and that policies that benefit the people are being carried out.
"Therefore, I welcome this call and I thank Ahmad Maslan for being open-minded and big-hearted for the sake of this Unity Government," she told Sinar
The Bentong Member of Parliament also agreed with DAP Secretary General Anthony Loke Siew Fook request for party members to support and vote for the Umno candidate in the next state elections. He explained that it has become customary for all parties to work together to support each other.
Young also hoped that Umno grassroots will give the Unity Government an opportunity to continue to lead the government both at the federal and state levels.
