SHAH ALAM - Former Umno leaders joining the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition will not have an impact on Umno-BN in facing the state elections in six states.

Sungai Panjang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Imran Tamrin said each leader has their strength, influence, and followers, however, indirectly, the charisma of these leaders will have some impact.

"But that impact will not cause Umno to be buried or weakened as the party is not solely based on charisma or individual factors," he said.

He further said that the parties involved need to be aware that the party has brought them where they are today.

"So, whoever becomes the president or leader in BN, they undoubtedly want to see stability and rebuild country's economy, social aspects, and development in all aspects.

"The political determination has an impact on the people. I believe that whoever the leader in Umno-BN is, and even if Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi or other leaders are not at the forefront, this narrative and struggle will continue," he said.

Imran said that leaders who do not agree have already migrated to other parties and will not have an impact within the party.
