MHB, Bank Rakyat collaborate to develop affordable housing in Batu Gajah

IPOH - Majuperak Holdings Berhad (MHB) has entered into a joint venture with Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Rakyat) to develop 601 affordable housing units through the ‘Rumah Perakku’ project in Mukim Sungai Terap in Batu Gajah.

MHB executive chairman, Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak said the housing scheme project, totalling 46.38 hectares, involved a gross development value (GDV) of RM132 million.

"The housing project will be implemented in phases starting from September this year and is expected to be fully completed in September 2025. Bank Rakyat provides financing facilities amounting to RM22 million,” he said at a press conference after the construction financing signing ceremony between MHB and Bank Rakyat here today.

MHB was represented by Syed Agil Syed Hashim while Bank Rakyat by Mohd Hamka Abd Rani. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building here.

Meanwhile, Sandrea said the initiative by MHB supports the state government's efforts to provide affordable, liveable and quality housing for the community.

"MHB is taking a big role and has arranged proactive measures related to housing projects for the people in this state in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 development agenda and supporting housing policies at both the state and federal levels," she said. - BERNAMA
