SHAH ALAM - The six-month performance of the Madani government has been marred by unresolved public issues, says Bersatu National Armada chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

Fayhsal highlighted concerns such as the cost of living and targeted withdrawals from the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).

According to him, the public is still waiting, and the government has extensively backtracked on its manifesto promises, including making improper appointments.

"Everything raises question marks, not to mention the fundamental issues that the people are clearly not satisfied with. There are also those among ministers making absurd statements.

"We will leave it to the people to decide in the State Elections. They will support the current government if they agree to it. Otherwise, we will witness a different outcome," he told Sinar.

Fayhsal demanded that the Madani government address concerns about the depreciation of the Malaysian ringgit and be accountable to the public.

He referred to the government's previous assertion that the weakened currency was a result of the country's main problems and an ineffective government.

"Now the ringgit has fallen, but the government is still incapable of stabilising it, this is a formula they spoke of, not us. They must answer to the public.

"They were the ones who promised the people, a good administration will strengthen the ringgit. So, whose formula is wrong here?" he questioned.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi responded to the criticism by stating that the unity government should be given sufficient time to demonstrate its performance in administration.

Zahid argued that the seven-month evaluation period proposed by some to assess Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's leadership was unfair.
