Claim of Zahid not defending Najib an attempt to divide Umno - Puad Zarkashi

SHAH ALAM - Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi claims that the accusation against the party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for not defending Datuk Seri Najib Razak was an attempt to divide the party.

His comments were made following flyers left on every car at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur with the claim.

"This is an attempt to divide Umno. This is the work of insiders joining forces with external parties.

"It is not a surprise if a few suspended and expelled Umno members are involved," he wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Puad added that the group was shocked when Zahid raised the issue of Najib's defence in his policy speech when he stated that Umno would continue to defend the fate of the former Pekan MP.

Not only that, a video of Najib's son's speech Datuk Mohd Nizar was also played.

In the recording, Nizar conveyed his father's message to defend the Unity Government.

Puad explained that the people who spread the accusations wanted Zahid to be weak so that the government could be toppled.
