Singaporeans caught urinating in public at Sultan Iskandar Building

SHAH ALAM - Despite the availability of sufficient toilets and signboards directing them to the amenities at the Sultan Iskandar Building, some individuals continue to disregard the rules and engage in inappropriate behavior.

This time, two Singaporeans were apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, after auxiliary police personnel stationed at the Sultan Iskandar Building caught them urinating in public areas, NST reports.

The two men, aged 48 and 68 and unrelated to each other, committed the offence in separate incidents.

Both individuals tested negative for drugs and were subsequently arrested to facilitate investigations under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 (Revised 1987), for behaving in an insulting manner and are liable to a RM100 fine.

One of them is also being investigated under Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for residing in Malaysia without a valid permit.

Several recent incidents of Singaporean individuals urinating in public areas have been reported.

One notable case involved a woman who squatted between two under-construction Immigration counters.

Another incident that gained significant attention was when a 68-year-old individual urinated at the ablution area, located less than five meters away from a surau.
