Just one or two more seats to be finalised for elections, says Selangor MB

SHAH ALAM - Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has not granted permission to dissolve state assembly yet, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said this was asked by reporters after the closing ceremony of Selangor Mega Job Fair 2023, here, today.

Amirudin said the date to dissolve Selangor state assembly to pave the way for the elections will only be announced after receiving consent from the Sultan.

Last Thursday, Sinar reported that Amirudin had an audience with the Sultan at Istana Alam Shah in Klang.

Amirudin arrived at the palace at around 5pm in his official vehicle, a Toyota Camry, accompanied by police escort.

On seat allocation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional, Amirudin said the discussion at the state level have concluded, although there are still some seats that have not been finalised.

"The discussions are almost concluded and we only have one or two seats left that needs to be finalised.

"We will leave it to the President (PH President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) or the party leadership," he said.

More than 10,000 job opportunities were offered through the Selangor Mega Job Fair 2023 programme held at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre.

Mohd Khairuddin Othman, Selangor's Youth, Sports, and Human Capital Development Exco said that over 100 employers, including private companies, government entities, as well as uniformed and statutory bodies, participated in this programme.
