SHAH ALAM - Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow says DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke eyeing to contest in Penang, just as he wants to contest in Seremban are just rumours.

The Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chief said such news would only make people laugh when they read and the media should exercise wisdom in evaluating such matters

"When the media hears such rumours, they could use their discretion to assess whether it has any basis. If there is absolutely no basis, then consider it purely as a rumour," he said at a press conference at his office in Komtar here, today.

According to media reports, Loke, the Transport Minister would be contesting in Penang in the upcoming state elections.

The report, citing internal sources from DAP Negeri Sembilan claimed that Loke, the Seremban MP would become the state Chief Minister candidate, replacing Chow, if PH were to win the state elections.

Meanwhile, China Press quoting Loke said he has no intention of contesting in any other constituency.
