KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki today slammed former DAP publicity secretary Tony Pua over his statement calling Barisan Nasional (BN), which is now with Pakatan Harapan (PH) as a 'corrupt coalition'.

The Umno secretary-general also sent a message of protest against DAP's top leadership and urged the party not to nominate Tony Pua in the next state election if they want harmony in the Unity Government to last.

"Even though Tony is no longer a leader in DAP, his speech is like 'spitting into the sky, it falls on your own face'.

"The fact is that the people have never forgotten his behavior when he was in the Finance MInistry of PH government for 22 months, he was one of the main contributors in causing the economy and finances, that were great during BN era, to collapse and caused the people to suffer.

"Up until today, and even though five years have passed, the country's economy has yet to be fully restored. Malaysia is not as glorious it used to be!" he stressed.

On Friday, the former DAP publicity secretary 'suddenly' called BN, which is now with PN in the Unity Government, as a 'corrupt coalition'.

The former Damansara MP voiced the statement while speaking at a DAP Fundraising Dinner at the Petaling Jaya City Hall compound.

Asyraf Wajdi also reminded Tony that the Unity Government is not a PH government, but rather a large coalition comprised of 19 political parties.

"After all, he himself is still daydreaming to the point of forgetting today's government is not a PH government but a large coalition government made of BN, PH, GPS, GRS and Warisan which comprises of 19 political parties.
