Muda to contest solo: Too soon to respond, says Nik Nazmi

SHAH ALAM - PKR vice president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said it was too soon to respond to Malaysian United Democratic Alliance's (Muda) decision to contest solo in the upcoming state polls.

He was asked to comment on Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman's announcement on the decision on Monday.

"I have not discussed this matter with the party leadership. We ought to have a political bureau meeting and a central leadership meeting.

"Hence, it is too soon for me to share my thoughts on the matter," he said after attending the 'Town Hall Rakyat' programme held at the Karangkraf Complex.

Syed Saddiq, who made the announcement to contest solo in the polls to be held in six states, said the decision was made based on the current situation of the two main political blocs in the country, which is seen as lacking.

"Muda believes that the main objective is to bring in new politics and reject old politics," he said.
