SHAH ALAM - DAP Chairman Lim Guan Eng has challenged Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari to lodge a police report against him.

The former Penang chief minister was referring to China Press special report today claiming that a news blog called MalaysiaNow made a mistake in its Chinese translation as Lim did not state Chinese temples or Buddha in his speech.

Lim said this confirms his statement yesterday in Mandarin was distorted to "PN intends to demolish Chinese temples or Buddha" while what he was referring to was a Hindu temple, where there was a case of a Hindu temple being demolished in Kedah in 2020, he added.

"If Ahmad Fadhli wants to direct the PN Youth machinery nationwide to make false police reports against me based on false information, it can be considered a crime for making a false police reports under Section 182 of the Penal Code.

"Ahmad Fadhli has continuously engaged in political and personal attacks that are disrespectful and unethical based on this malicious defamation by MalaysiaNow.

"Is he himself brave enough to come forward and make a false police report against me?," he replied.

According to reports by MalaysiaKini, Pas MP Ahmad Fadhli labelled Lim a hypocrite for playing up racial issues. Fadhli said the PN Youth machinery has since been instructed to lodge police reports nationwide in protest against Lim over the "rude” remarks.
