SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan UMNO said it is ready to contest in the Jeram Padang seat following MIC’s decision to sit out the state polls on Aug 12.

Negeri Sembilan UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, however, said the matter needs to be discussed with UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi before any decision is made.

"Umno is ready to field a candidate if it is approved by the president and BN leadership. We have several candidates who can stand in Jeram Padang,” he said after a meeting with leaders of the Negeri Sembilan Orang Asli community here today.

Also present was Cameron Highlands Member of Parliament Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor.
