PUTRAJAYA - Sales promotion vouchers worth RM30,000 will be distributed to visitors at the Rural Entrepreneur Mini Carnival (KUD) at Dataran Amanjaya Mall in Sungai Petani, Kedah from today until Sunday.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said over 100 rural entrepreneurs, supervised by various agencies under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW), would sell various food and beverages, clothing, handicrafts and agricultural products at the carnival.

"Vouchers worth RM10,000 will be made available daily to encourage sales during the three-day programme, which runs from 10am to 10pm,” she told Bernama.

Rubiah said the Mini KUD programme also included a Rural Business Challenge (RBC) Bistro, to be participated by RBC winners from around the state.

"Through RBC Bistro, rural entrepreneurs can expand their business network, increase sales activities and gain wider market access to grow their business,” she said.

One of the main attractions is the Rural Tourism Kedah Pavilion, organised by the Kedah Regional Development Authority. It showcases the state’s tourism industry under the Desa Lestari Programme, which combines nature-based lifestyles, agriculture, and economic activities, she said.

"We are expecting about 10,000 visitors per day, with a revenue target of RM200,000,” she said, adding that visitors to the Mini KUD also had a chance to win a motorcycle in a lucky draw.

Rubiah also said that GiatMara would offer a Dream Home Electrical Maintenance (Seri) service for 100 homes to selected visitors.
