Muda and PSM unite on five principles - Syed Saddiq

SHAH ALAM – Malaysian Democratic Alliance (Muda) president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman has highlighted the common principles that bind Muda and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) together.

The two parties have agreed to cooperate in the upcoming state polls, promising not to contest the same seats.

"We are united by principles and the drive to turbocharge Malaysia forward,” Syed Saddiq said in an Instagram post today.

He listed the five principles that bind Muda and PSM, namely: rejecting divisive politics based on race and ethnicity, uplifting the welfare of the majority and marginalised communities, advocating for pure democracy, balancing and inclusive development, addressing climate change and protecting the environment.

Syed Saddiq said that despite not having control over the federal government, state governments, or local councils currently dominated by other political blocs, Muda and PSM are determined to be the voice of conscience for Malaysians at the state level.

"Vote Muda and PSM for Malaysia,” he concluded.

Earlier today, PSM deputy chief S Arutchelvam said that the Muda-PSM alliance was a good alternative to mainstream parties in future polls.

Muda has so far revealed that it would contest four state seats in Selangor – Seri Serdang, Batu Tiga, Sentosa and Bukit Antarabangsa.

PSM has announced that it would contest the Kapar state seat.
