SELAYANG - Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said that the government using police force to silence the opposition shows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's fear ahead of six state elections next month.
"They aim to destroy my chances in the state elections.
"I hope that with this prosecution, Malaysians will now understand their true intentions," Sanusi told members of the media at Selayang Court today.
Sanusi further said that he was arrested without any notice in the early hours in the morning despite informing the officials that he would be present in court this morning.
"The government is in fear; therefore, they rushed the charges against me with only three days of investigations.
"I was arrested at 3am without any notice. I only found out that I was charged through the online news media but still they wanted to make an arrest at 3am at my apartment in Kuala Lumpur," he added.
