KOTA BHARU - Four men were arrested in separate raids conducted at a home and a tahfiz school in Batu 11, Ketereh yesterday for their involvement in processing, selling, and storing ketum leaves.

The raids were carried out by the Kelantan Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department and the Kota Bharu District Police.

Kelantan Police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the first raid, which took place around 9 pm at Jalan Tali Air Kampung But, resulted in the arrest of four men in their 20s.

During the investigation, enforcement discovered 20 plastic packages containing 20 liters of ketum liquid, along with four plastic packages filled with leaves believed to be ketum leaves, estimated to weigh around 40kg.

Additionally, a box of cigarettes suspected to contain methamphetamine pills (pil kuda) was found.

"A large pot filled with about 10 litres of boiled water, suspected to be ketum water, was also found along with two gas cannisters and one gas burner.

"The arrest on the four men led to the second raid at a tahfiz school where black plastic packages weighing around 100kg, suspected to contain ketum leaves, were discovered,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
