Upon completion in 2028, it will be one of the ASEAN region's largest logistics hubs, enhancing Selangor's and Malaysia's competitive edge in the global market, it added.

Earlier, GVL also announced the groundbreaking ceremony of the SAIL Hub, marking a significant milestone in this transformative project.

"Esteemed guests, industry peers, and members of the press gathered to celebrate this momentous occasion, demonstrating their invaluable support for the first phase of construction, which will span over the next 30 months," it said.

GVL acquired a strategic 71-acre industrial land parcel in Shah Alam Industrial Estate six years ago, laying the foundation for the SAIL Hub.

With the support of the state government, planning and approvals were obtained.

"As a testament to GVL's commitment to sustainability, SAIL Hub is pursuing the local GreenRE Silver rating along with various internationally recognised green certifications, including excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) Advanced and EDGE Zero Carbon certifications. "These certifications will further validate SAIL Hub's adherence to rigorous environmental standards and its role as a frontrunner in green logistics practises and pave the way for partnerships with other international businesses that share a commitment to sustainability principles.

GVL also extends its appreciation to caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar for officiating the groundbreaking ceremony.
