Cops call witnesses over IED bomb found in Siti Kassim's car

Cops confirm the object found on the rear tyre of Siti Kassim's car was believed to be an IED bomb.
KUALA LUMPUR - The police have taken statements from several individuals, including witnesses, in connection with the discovery of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Friday.

The explosive device was found on the rear tyre of activist Siti Kasim's car at a car service center on Jalan Maarof here.

Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said an ongoing detailed investigation is being held into the incident.

"We are thoroughly investigating the matter which includes recording statements from several individuals at the scene. Any recent developments will be updated," he told Sinar.

The police have confirmed that the object placed on Siti's car tire is believed to be an IED.

Prior to this, Siti, through a live broadcast on her Facebook account, claimed that an object resembling a bomb had been placed on her car tyre.

According to Siti she noticed the object on the tyre when she took her vehicle to the car service center on Jalan Maarof at about 12noon on Friday.
