SHAH ALAM - Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir says Kedah, a state known as the rice bowl of Malaysia, has several capable leaders to lead the state administration's effectively.

This comes after Kedah caretaker Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor garnered both praise and criticism for his bold statements. He was also recently charged under sedition for uttering remarks against Sultan of Selangor.

Sanusi had reportedly drawn a comparison between the Kedah and Selangor sultans and said the Kedah ruler would not have appointed Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as Selangor menteri besar.

Mukhriz's statement implies that despite the attention garnered by the caretaker menteri besar, there are numerous other qualified individuals within Kedah who can contribute positively to the state's progress and development.

"For this moment, he seems popular.

"Whether it's for the right reason or not, that’s not a matter. But I think that there are many Kedahans who could bring up the state to a different level,” Mukhriz added.
