SHAH ALAM - "Story of my life. Of course I was disappointed," said the former Kedah Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir after his post as the state's administrator was abruptly cut short.

The Pejuang president said he considered the position he was appointed to as a blessing and a gift from God.

"Position is a gift from God and it can be taken away at any time. So, I don't dwell too much into it. But I learn from experiences,” Mukhriz said on Sinar Daily’s Politically Frank programme.

Mukhriz is the fifth child of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the only political heir. He served as the 11th and 13th Kedah menteri besar from May 2013 to February 2016 and again from May 2018 to May 2020.

When questioned about his approach to joining another political party after the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, he said he would wait due to the dynamic political atmosphere in Malaysia.

"Day-to-day things can change. It will be several years before the next general elections. So, we think it's best not to rush into joining any party just yet, and we'll see how things unfold," he added.
