Cops receive report over misuse of TMJ's wife's name

JOHOR BAHRU - The Johor police received a report on Wednesday, over an impersonating Facebook account using the name of Che' Puan Besar Khaleeda Bustamam, the wife of Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

State police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said a 40-year-old man had lodged a report on the fake Facebook account at the Johor Bahru Selatan district police headquarters at 3.19pm.

"The complainant found that a Facebook account using Che' Puan Besar Khaleeda was a fake account.

"There was also a photo depicting Che' Puan Besar Khaleeda promoting air conditioners from Japan on the fake account," he said in a statement, today.

Kamarul said the case is being investigated under Section 419 of the Penal Code for cheating by impersonation.

"The public should not misuse social media platforms for personal gain. Action will be taken according to the provisions of the existing laws," he advised.
