KUANTAN - The route at Kilometer 66.1 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) was reopened after comprehensive measures were taken and appropriate assessment efforts were carried out following the road sinking incident last Wednesday.

In a statement Anih Berhad informed that due to the incident, all parties including the police, fire rescue operations and Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) have assessed the situation and taken immediate remedial action with the approval of the Malaysian Highways Board (LLM).

Anih Berhad stressed that the company had worked with the parties involved to facilitate the reopening of the affected route soonest for the comfort and safety of users.

"The coordinated response from the Anih team with the support of the relevant authorities played an important role in the recovery effort.

"Our company remains committed to maintaining the highest safety standards and we constantly monitor the highway conditions," the statement read.

Meanwhile, Anih advises all users to obey the set speed limit and be careful when driving in that area.
