TAPAH - Police are hunting for a man who allegedly peeped at a woman in the restroom of a petrol station in Tapah yesterday.
The incident occurred at around 4.50pm, and the victim, a 33-year-old woman, realised the suspicious act of the suspect and subsequently lodged a police report.
According to Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the suspect waiting in front of the restroom area before entering the restroom shortly after the woman.
"The suspect was later seen leaving the area by getting into a Toyota Avanza, which is registered under the name of a man residing in Pusing, Batu Gajah," he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting modesty.
Police are urging anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to come forward.
The CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, and has sparked outrage among netizens.
