Negeri Sembilan poll: Police investigating cases of burning tents, party flags

SEREMBAN - A total of 11 investigation papers have been opened on the state poll campaign in Negeri Sembilan, including cases of burning party flags and tents.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said that it involved 96 police reports received from the first day of campaign until Tuesday.

"Most cases are on vandalism and flag burning whereas one is burning party tent.

"In regard to the campaigns and ceramah conducted, all of them had permits. There was no wrongdoing by the candidates or representatives," he told reporters here on Tuesday.

According to him, on the voting day on Aug 12, his party would mobilise a total of 9,223 officials and personnel to control the situation and security to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Earlier, Dzaffir also fulfilled his voting duty at the Federal Reserve Unit office (FRU) of Negeri Sembilan contingent headquarters (IPK) here and inspected the early voting process.

On Tuesday, a total of 6,300 Negeri Sembilan police contingent members and 19,744 Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) members in the state carried out their responsibility in the state election early voting.
