Sanusi refuses to comment on Vincent Tan lawsuit

ALOR SETAR - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor refuses to comment further on the lawsuit brought against him by Berjaya Group Founder Tan Sri Vincent Tanclaiming damages of RM200 million.

"No, that case is still developing. The documents are being revealed. We will see in a day or two. No further comments,” he said when met after the Mai Sat with Kedah Menteri Besar Programme ceramah at the Tunku Yaakob Park Football Field on Tuesday.

The claims were made following Sanusi’s slanderous and false statements regarding the Selangor Maritime Gateway Project (SMG).

A report on Monday stated the claim was made after Sanusi made the slanderous, false, baseless and evidence-free speech aimed at accusing Vincent Tan and Berjaya Land either directly or indirectly relating to the project during the ‘Jelajah Mega PN (Perikatan Nasional) Best’ and ‘PN Best Sayangi Kedah Sejahtera Mega Tour’ on Aug 2.

Berjaya Land in a statement informed that a claim letter through the law firm representing Vincent Tan and him was submitted to Sanusi outlining five demands.

A media statement by Berjaya Land informed legal actions would be taken if Sanusi failed to obey the claims submitted before Aug 8.

Among the claims included Sanusi without conditions withdrawing all defamatory statements in his speech referring to Vincent Tan and Berjaya Land along with an open apology without conditions. Also claimed was a compensation of RM200 million.
