KUALA SELANGOR - Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has urged the people of Selangor to vote against Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the state elections on Saturday.

"The people of Selangor should teach them (PN) a lesson this time, and we should 'knockout' PN," he said during his speech at the Madani Expedition Grand Finale in Kuala Selangor on Thursday evening.

Anwar, also Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman, said that this confidence is based on the success of the unity government throughout its eight-month rule.

"If I didn't do my work, there wouldn't be such confidence in what I'm saying because I've been the opposition leader for a long time.

"If I didn't do my work and didn't put in the effort, the Deputy Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) and government ministers (of course) wouldn't have confidence in me," he said.

Anwar added that his administration has provided the best services to defend all people's interests regardless of ethnicity.

According to Anwar, all areas have been focused on, not just for the poor citizens but also for restrooms and school buildings throughout the country.

"I emphasise that all of these need to be repaired and must be accelerated this year with an allocation of RM1.4 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, Anwar stated that during the final stages of the discussion, the government suggested not placing the burden on employers to address the issue of worker salaries.

"The government has come up with a proposal that neither PN nor the previous government has ever thought of, by providing a sum of RM2 billion to raise and increase worker salaries from government funds," he said.
