KUALA LUMPUR - BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan says the unity government's victory was expected.

He said the unity government Leadership Negotiation Council will hold a discussion to decide the best Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Candidate.

"If it's true (winning in Negeri Sembilan) Alhamdulillah. It was as expected, the unity government can remain as the government, but we dont know the majority.

"Simply maintaining the unity government with a comfortable majority was well within our expectations," he said when meeting reporters at the World Trade Centre (WTC) on Saturday.

He added the names of the most suitalble candidates would be presented to the Negeri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

"We will nominate candidates who we feel is suited as Menteri Besar for us to receive the blessings and the approval of the Negeri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

"The appointment was all under the powers of his majesty, and he would decide," he said.

The media reported Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN unofficially to form the Negeri Sembilan government when they passed the simple majority at 9.30pm.

It was informed by the Negeri Sembilan Umno Liaison Body chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin.

It was understood that both parties won 24 seats with DAP winning all 11 state seats contested while BN won 14 of 17 seats contested.
