Elmina crash: Lorry driver tried to save motorcyclist using fire extinguisher

SHAH ALAM - A lorry driver tried to save the motorcyclist involved in the plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam, by using a fire extinguisher.

The heartbreaking incident was shared by the witness himself through a video sent on the social site, @affyndy's TikTok, on Thursday.

According to the driver, as soon as the plane crashed, he rushed out of the truck and heard the victim screaming for help.

"I took the fire extinguisher that was in my truck and went near the deceased, and at that time he (the motorcyclist) was still moving.

"I want to be close to the deceased, but there were still things from the plane that exploded. Then I went close to the deceased and tried to put out the fire using a fire extinguisher," he wrote.

However, he claimed that the fire extinguisher used was not enough to put out the fire on the victim's body.

At the same time, he was upset that he could not save the motorcyclist.

"I tried to save the motorcyclist. I'm sorry," he said regretfully.

On Thursday, the plane reportedly took off from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm and received permission to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, but crashed two minutes before landing.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke was reported to have said that, based on initial investigations, the plane was found diverted to the right side of the landing path.
