Police complete investigations into Elmina plane crash

GOMBAK - The police have completed their investigations into the tragic aircraft crash in Elmina, Seksyen U16, Shah Alam on Thursday.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said further investigations into the cause of the crash will be carried out by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB).

"The police investigation into the identification of the bodies has been completed. The AAIB will now take over the investigation into the cause of the crash," he said when met at the Raudhatul Sakinah Cemetery in Gombak on Sunday.

Ayob was present at the cemetery to give his final respects to the late Datuk Seri Johari Harun, who was one of the nine people who died in the crash.

The other victims were pilot Shahrul Kamal Roslan, pilot Heikal Aras Abdul Azim, e-hailing driver Sharipudin Shaari, aircraft passengers Mohammad Naim Fawwas Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufik Mohd Zaki, Khairil Azwan Jamaludin, Idris Abdul Talib@Ramali, and Shaharul Amir Omar.

The bodies of the victims were buried in separate locations around Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Pahang, and Perak today.

Ayob said that the police investigation process had been completed and all of the bodies had been claimed by their families.

"We have done the DNA matching and the Selangor police chief had released a statement yesterday," he said.
