Pilot Heikal Aras was an obedient son - Brother

The three children of the late pilot Heikal Aras Abdul Azim; Rafael Dzulqairy, Suri Balqish and Daniel Zulqarnain shed tears as their father's remains arrived at Desa Pinggiran for burial at the Precinct 20 Muslim Cemetary in Putrajaya today.

PUTRAJAYA - The late pilot Heikal Aras Abdul Azim who died in a plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam on Thursday was an obedient son and had never raised his voice to his parents.

His brother who is also a Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) lieutenant commander Husnein Aras Abdul Azim, 46, said the deceased was also a good father to three children, Daniel Zulqornain (13), Suri Balqish (10) and Rafael Dzulqairy (9).

"He was also cheerful and even when he faced problems, he would still be smiling sweetly.

"He was the second child of five siblings and we were very close. This is how our parents brought us up with religion and manners.

"Heikal's passing was envied by many and the family members shed tears as a reminiscence, not a loss," he said after the funeral at the Precinct 20 Muslim Cemetery at 2.20pm today.

The funeral prayer was performed at the Jamek Ar-Rahimiah mosque in Klang and Heikal's remains were then taken to his family's residence in Desa Pinggiran Putra, Dengkil at 1.20pm.

On Thursday, a light aircraft carrying six passengers and two crew crashed at about 2.50pm in Elmina Central Park, U16 Section, Shah Alam.

Besides those on board, two civilians, a p-hailing delivery motorcyclist and an e-hailing car driver who were passing through the crash area also died in the incident.

Husnein added that his late brother aspired to become a pilot since he was a child as he was inspired by fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, Han Solo and they would always get into a fight while playing the character.

He shared that besides their two younger siblings who wished to become a pilot, the deceased's eldest son Daniel Zulqornain also showed similar interest.
