PUTRAJAYA - The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of the Beechcraft 390 Premier 1 aircraft that crashed in Elmina 8 Central Park, Section U16 last Thursday was completely destroyed by fire.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the CVR was sent to the Singapore Transport Safety Investigation Bureau's laboratory on Sunday for analysis to retrieve the last 30 minutes of recordings before the crash.

"The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) chief Brigadier General Tan Chee Kee was also present for this purpose," he told reporters after a Merdeka Celebration event at the ministry, today.

He said AAIB was facing difficulties in retrieving the recordings as the CVR containing the 'memory puck' was in an imperfect condition.

"It is not know how long it will take to retrive the data as several techinical issues are being addressed by experts," he said.
