SHAH ALAM - A Malaysian parents reveals that a restaurant worker had allegedly molested their son in Semenyih, last Friday.
The couple shared the incident in a Facebook post of a community group to give a heads up to others on the traumatising experience, which they claimed took place at a restaurant's restroom.
"After the kids returned from school, we went to an eatery. My son went to the toilet but when he came back, he was crying.
"Why asked on what happened, he remained silent and stopped eating," the couple said in the post.
The boy then revealed to his parents about the incident once he got into the car, claiming that one of the workers at the restaurant pulled down his pants when he went to the toilet to check whether he had been circumcised or not.
Without thinking any further, the parents immediately confronted the worker.
"I turned the car and confronted the worker but he acted as if nothing happened. However, small kids don't lie about things like this.
"The manager then came and apologised to us. At first, we considered not lodging a police report due to the guy's and the restaurant's livelihood.
"However, after consulting with family we decided that a police report should be made," the parents said.
The traumatised parents urged the parents, especially those with young kids to be vigilant and not allow their kids to use the public restrooms unattended.
The restaurant owner also commented on the post and said the worker had been fired following the incident.
"I am sorry, I understand how you feel. I have reprimanded the worker and fired him. I also have children, so I understand how you must feel.
"If I know the worker would behave like that, I would not have hired him,” the post read.
Other users who commented on the post applauded his swift action and urged him to lodge a police report against the worker as well.
They also urged the restaurant owner to conduct proper screening when hiring staffs in the future.
