Zahid's daughter wishes everyone forgiveness, best afterlife

KUALA LUMPUR - The eldest child of the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Nurulhidayah expressed her gratitude after her father was discharged not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) by the High Court on 47 charges related to corruption, criminal breach of trust, and money laundering involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds.

Taking to her Instagram account, Nurulhidayah expressed her hope that those following the case would not have to endure slander and accusations from the harsh world.

She conveyed her wish for everyone to find forgiveness and the best afterlife, among fellow believers in heaven.

"This test thought our patience and loyalty, where we come from, our race, and political beliefs will not be a decider to heaven and hell except for the judgment from the almighty, thank you Allah," she said.

The decision to DNAA the charges came after Justice Datuk Collin Squerah, now a Court of Appeal Judge, acted upon the Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar's notification that the Attorney-General's Chambers had received Zahid's representation for the charges against him to be dropped.

During the proceedings, Mohd Dusuki explained that the prosecution sought to halt all proceedings against Zahid, 70, based on 11 reasons outlined in provision 145 of the Federal Constitution.

He also mentioned that on Jan 29, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had informed the AGC of the need for further investigations in the case.
