No discussion to appoint Musa Aman to lead Sabah PH

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) has denied allegations that former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman will lead the coalition.

In a joint statement today, Sabah PH confirmed that there was no discussion and decision made in any Sabah PH meetings regarding the matter.

"Sabah PH was surprised by a news report entitled 'Musa Aman will lead Sabah PH?' by a news portal that had gone viral on social media to the point that it caused confusion and concern among the people.

"Sabah PH unanimously denies this matter and it was never discussed and decided in any Sabah PH meetings," the statement read.

According to the statement, Sabah PH has upheld a stance that any important decision related to the mandate and confidence of the people should be considered, scrutinised and examined unanimously at the state coalition leadership level.

"Sabah PH will meet and hold a meeting soon to discuss this matter including on Sabah PH's direction ahead of the state election that will be held later," he said.

The statement was issued by Sabah PH chairman Datuk Christina Liew, United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) president Datuk Ewon Benedick, Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chairman Datuk Sangkar Rasam, Sabah DAP chairman Datuk Frankie Poon and Sabah Amanah chairman Lahirul Latigu.

Malaysiakini reported that there were speculations that Musa will actively return to the Sabah political arena.

It was reported that sources claimed that PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was looking for a way to place the veteran politician as the state coalition leader, but it had caused discontent among Sabah PH members.
