Police report lodged for investigation on Zahid's DNAA

KUALA LUMPUR - Muafakat Nasional (MN) Supreme Council member Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz says the police report lodged during the 'Save Malaysia' rally was for investigations to be carried out on the discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) order of Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said basically, this was to investigate the chronology of Zahid’s case from the moment the Deputy Prime Minister faced prosecution to the appointment of the new Attorney-General (AG).

"There were many doubtful matters and as the public, we feel that there was manipulation in terms of legislative executive and others.

"That’s why we lodged a police report to investigate the matter, to find out who were involved in the early stages, not just Zahid, but this includes the previous and the new AG as well as the senior deputy public prosecutor who was dropped from the case as well as those police wanted to investigate,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters (IPD) here, today.

He said today, they walked in the name of 'peacefully saving Malaysia'.

He said this was the true concept involving many public struggles to correct the situation in the nation from an administrative, governance as well as misuse of power.

"There were three demands of the assembly and the first was for Zahid to be charged.

"Secondly was to free the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) from the executive powers and the third was for justice for the people,” he said.

On Sept 4, Zahid was granted a DNAA by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on 47 charges of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering charges involving funds belonging to Yayasan Akalbudi.
