PARIT - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed all government departments to not schedule guests' arrival in any event too early in order to avoid wasting time.

He said that arriving too early with some having a time gap of up to an hour will only reduce the country's productivity.

"I looked at the schedule, the PM's (Prime Minister) arrival was at 1pm, the guests' arrival was at noon. Why was it scheduled so early? What were they going to do for an hour?.

"So I ask all government departments, when it comes to events, make a little change. If the PM is going to arrive at 1pm, maybe set the guests arrival at 12.40pm perhaps," he suggested.

He said this at the Madani meet and greet with the Prime Minister session at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Chancellor's Hall near Seri Iskandar today.

Also present were Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar and Perak Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Exco Khairudin Abu Hanipah.

Anwar said in an official event, participants' arrival set at 10 to 15 minutes earlier was good enough.

"This must be made an order. If it's 10 to 15 minutes prior, it's fine to arrange seats and whatnot.

"No need to ask guests to arrive too early and wait for too long. This will waste time and reduce productivity," he said.

During the ceremony, the Tambun MP presented e-Kasih aids to five participants and 'Kotak Rezeki Ummat' food boxes from Myfundaction.

A letter of approval for the Ar-Rahmaniah Mosque project in Tronoh was also presented.
