KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin believes that preserving a culture of integrity in the leadership and service is crucial to ensure the state is managed responsibly.

He said a culture of integrity that is continuously practised can also guarantee Sabah is well managed.

"Trust and accountability based on integrity can boost the confidence of the people, the business community, local and foreign investors, especially in the leadership of the government administration to ensure that the people enjoy the promised development," he said.

He was speaking at the state medals and awards investitute ceremony to 50 receipients at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

Tun Juhar congratulated the Sabah government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Cabinet members for successfully implementing development programmes that will bring more benefits to the people.

He also commended the commitment of the Sabah government in improving the living standards and economy of the people through various initiatives to ensure that no one is left behind and more would be brought out of poverty.

"Positive economic growth and higher trade value are being observed as Sabah manages to attract more investors and achieve high returns," he said.

Tun Juhar said he was confident that the Sabah government would take full advantage of the understanding and good relations with the federal government to further develop and advance the state.

He called on Sabahans, especially the young people to always be ready to explore and adapt new skills and digital competencies to remain relevant in today's fast-paced technological development.

Meanwhile, Tun Juhar reminded all walks of life in Sabah to continue to practise mutual respect, unity and tolerance and celebrate diversity and differences, as well as respect the religious and cultural sensitivities of different cultures. - BERNAMA
