"This gathering calls upon all citizens to convey a clear message that Malaysia opposes all forms of global human rights violations and urges authorities to take firm and immediate action to stop all acts of cruelty, oppression, and injustice.

"Unity Youth gathers based on humanitarian principles, sensitivity, awareness and concern for what befalls Palestine," he said in his Facebook post, today.

Unity Youth is a coalition comprising Dr Akmal, Angkatan Muda Keadilan Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim, DAP Youth chief Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen and Amanah Youth chief Senator Mohd Hasbie Muda.

Dr Akmal said that Unity Youth strongly condemned humanitarian crimes in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and urged for its immediate resolution, taking into account the suffering and countless civilian casualties on both sides.

He pointed out that the violations of agreements by the Israeli regime and continuous oppression of the human rights of the Palestinian people have gone unpunished for a long time, highlighting the bias of international organisations.

"The diverse multi-ethnic and multi-religious population in Malaysia needs to realise that this ongoing conflict transcends religious perspectives; it is a humanitarian crime.

"Open protests need to be made. This is the time for Malaysians to unite in showing solidarity with Palestine, defending its sovereignty and the rights of its people to put an end to a conflict that benefits no one," he said.
